Advantages of Luxury Flooring Options on the Market Today

Hardwood flooring has long been king of the castle when it comes to luxury homes, but it is about to be dethroned. Enter Luxury Vinyl Plank and Luxury Vinyl Tile flooring: two high-end flooring options with the same level of beauty, reduced stress, and less upkeep.

Today we are unveiling the advantages of these new luxury flooring options, shedding light on the drawbacks of hardwood, and sharing our personal recommendations.

Advantage #1: Long-Lasting & Customizable

Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring (LVP) is made to last 10-15 years or more, and it will never need to be refinished. It captures the details of wood grains, knots, and even the natural imperfections found in hardwood. The result is a stunning rustic look that adds warmth and character to your home. LVP it available in a wide variety of faux woods and widths for a completely custom floor.

Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) sports 15-30 year warranties. Plus, given that it’s waterproof, it’s almost completely immune to stains.

Both LVP and LVT are good for high-moisture areas like kitchens, baths, and laundry rooms.

Advantage #2: Easy to Install

LVP and LVT are some of the easier materials to install.

LVP snaps together effortlessly. Interlocking vinyl plank flooring creates a floating floor, but instead of adhesive connecting the planks,  the planks interlock with tongue and groove joints that easily snapped together for a reliable fit.

LVT can either snap into place or be glued down with adhesive to the subfloor.

Advantage #3: Affordable Compared to Hardwood

LVP and LVT are both very affordable, compared to hardwood, which averages $8-25 per square foot.

LVP averages $2-7 per square foot, making it the smallest investment for luxury flooring. LVT averages $5-12 per square foot.
